Pre Race, Race Week, Course Marking Schedule

We invite all runners to take part in the pre- and post-race events.  We require that all runners attend the Thursday evening pre-race talk and medical check on Thursday, but all other activities are your choice. Course marking will begin on October 1 through Oct 10. Please email Volunteer@destinationtrailrun.com to volunteer for course marking. Course marking volunteers will earn a special award!

April 7-April 14, 2017 Special early registration opens on Ultrasignup for $795, Registration will be a “first come, first in”. Price goes up to $950 on Jan 21 at 9am PST.

June 1, 2017: Cut off date for entrants who want a partial refund on their entry fee (see refund policy)

Oct 1, 2017: Last day to finish your trail work hours. No submission of trail work required.

Oct 1-Oct 10, 2017 Course Marking, led by Race Director and crew. All runners are welcome to join in and pre-run the course. Please note that course marking is slow, about 2-3 miles per hour.  Stay tuned in for more info and details on course marking. All runners who volunteer for course marking will be eligible to win a Silver Dragon at the Awards Ceremony.

October 12: Kane Springs Campground (1705 Kane Creek Blvd, Moab, UT 84532). Race Check in, bib pickup, long course briefing, drop bag drop off, mandatory participant meeting.

1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Runners may leave their drop bags at the High School for delivery to aid stations. 5:30 p.m. is the final cut off for race organization to receive drop bags. ** Please note that race check in/bib pick up doesn’t start until 1pm.

1pm-5pm (come anytime in that range to get your medical band) Mandatory medical check.  Our medical director will be on site from 1pm to 5pm to do medical checks. All runners will meet with medical personnel for a medical check (blood pressure, weight, some medical questions).

1 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Race Check in. Pick up your bib number, race swag. We will have marked maps out if you want to copy the course on a map (bring your own map). SPOT devices will be handed out race morning at the race start! SPOTs will not be handed out on this day.

3 p.m. to 4 p.m. MANDATORY race meeting for all runners, RECOMMENDED for all crew, and pacers (not required for crew/pacers, but they must know the rules). Pre-Race Talk at White Pass High School.  We will review important rules and course information and answer questions.

5:30 p.m. Last chance to give drop bags to race. Drop bags not accepted after this.

October 13, 2017: RACE DAY. 7AM, race begins at Kane Springs Campground.

October 17, 2017: 11PM Race cut off, 112 hours after start. Come see our last runners finish!

October 18, 2017 5PM Award Ceremony. We will provide a dinner at no extra cost to runners. 1st, 2nd, 3rd place awards for top male and female finishers. All finishers will receive their Finisher Prints. Celebration of the journey. Please pick up your print earlier if you will not make the ceremony. We DO NOT mail finisher’s prints.
